What is PATA Chapter?
PATA Chapters are local community organisations of travel industry professionals who join in a co-operative endeavour-within the framework of PATA to develop and promote travel and tourism to, from and within the Asia Pacific region and to provide local activities relevance for the aims and objectives of PATA. PATA Chapters are formed within local travel industry communities to meet their professional needs and attain their business objectives.
PATA’s role is to position, promote and protect Asia Pacific travel and tourism. Through PATA’s extensive Chapter network, PATA is able to extend its reach to all corners of the globe. As PATA’s grassroots force, the Chapters are an extension of the Association. Chapters advance PATA’s objectives by:
- Networking – Closer communication between local travel and tourism industry stakeholders
- Shared experiences – Common interests and concerns that can be addressed at an immediate, local level
- Promoting knowledge – Educating local communities in source markets about travel options in Asia Pacific
Organisations who participate in the PATA Chapters receive added value to their PATA membership. In addition to the benefits accorded to all PATA members, organizations within the Chapters have increased opportunities to address local issues. Chapters contribute to the Association by taking an active role in supporting PATA’s mission and by contributing to the growth and prosperity of the travel and tourism industry.
